Retail Banking Institution Vacancies

An established retail banking institution, with affiliation to a well diversified Nigerian Group with interest in Insurance, Telecommunications, Aviation, Real Estate and Financial Services requires the following to be part of the dynamic team

CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER –Ref: GTB/FIN/CFO/01
To play a crucial role in developing and implementing the Bank's strategy as approved by Board of Directors and to oversee both the strategy and finance function of the Bank.

The CFO will be responsible for supervising the budgetary process, assess and evaluate actual performance against budget, develop strategy and mechanism for effective performance monitoring to align performance to organisational goals and to provide management support on a day-to-day running of the finance function.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the MD on strategic and finance related functions of the bank.
• Support MD and the business in meeting revenue target, minimise cost and maximise profitability.
• Keep the Bank's strategy in focus at all times to avoid derailment, continuous review of Bank’s strategy and benchmarking to align strategy to changes in the local and international market.
• Direct supervision of the Financial Controller on all finance related function to ensure optimal performance in meeting both external and internal reporting deadlines.
• Supervise the budgeting process to ensure timely completion of the budget, undertake bi-annual budget review and secure Board approval for the Bank's annual budget.
• Oversee GL management and security; ensure compliance with relevant Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory requirements and maintain internal control safeguards and Coordinate all audit activities.
• Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as and when needed.
• Oversee the financing strategy, cash management, investment and asset management.
• Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
• Develop timely and accurate financial and management reports reflecting true financial activities of the bank.
• Coordinate annual audit activity, file efficient and timely corporate tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all finance related functions.

Job Requirements
• First degree in any field (in addition to a professional qualification in accounting such as ACCA, ACA, CPA)
• Must have at least 1 0 years working experience of which 8.must have been in the banking industry.
Knowledge
• The CFO must be a seasoned and matured Accountant with at least 10 years experience in auditing and banking.
• Must be a selfstarter, motivated and a solution driven and proactive person with sound leadership qualities.
• The CFO must ideally have experience managing finance, budgeting, control and reporting functions in banking
• The CFO must be familiar with banking regulations and understand the impact and dictates of other legal framework in relation to banking.

Skills
• Ability to evaluate and interpret financial statements with a sound financial management capability.
• Strong leadership and negotiation skills
• Must be calm, be a good listener, exhibit drive and passion with a flair for numbers.
• Must be a team player.

TREASURER - Ref; GTB/TRS/TR/02

Job Objectives
• To playa critical role in developing and implementing the Bank's strategy as approved by Board of Directors and to oversee the Treasury function of the Bank
• The Treasurer shall play a vital role in growth of the balance sheet, profitability and capital levels.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Formulate, consider, adopt and oversee implementation of the Bank's Treasury policy,
• To define the strategy of the bank regarding profitability and level of capital, the growth of the balance sheet and market share and the activity volume and results.
• Plan and control the process of the Balance sheet and off-balance sheet structure and composition.
• Review the financial risks and other exposure risks of the bank,
• Monitor and evaluate the bank's capital adequacy and liquidity maintenance and to ensure that its capital base supports the regulatory capital requirements,
• Set objectives for Management's Assets and Liability Committee (ALCO) and review its performance,
• Prepare a quarterly report for Management (ALCO)
• Give quarterly report to the Board.

Job Requirements
• First degree in any business related field
• Job holder must have at least 10 years working experience of which 8 must have been in the banking industry
Previous Experience Required
• Experience in the following areas:
• Liquidity Risk Management
• Interest Risk Management
• Currency Risk Management
• Credit Risk in relation to Dealing and Inter-Bank Trading
• Capital Adequacy
• Regulatory Requirement
• New product and implications for Treasury Management

Skills
• Ability to evaluate and interpret money market trends with a sound financial management capability.
• Strong sales and relationship management skills
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills
